Mike and I live in the very rural area of NY in a custom built log home. We have been blessed with two boys that are turning into fine young men. Our oldest is a civil engineer at an established consulting firm and our younger son is our partner in the family construction business. Both boys help us tremendously with responsibilities that we have for work and on our ranch. We are outside loving people and very active. Our place is a lot of work, but it is all worth it. It was our dream that we designed and built.

During the summer our life is quite hectic. We have beautiful land on the highest point in the County with a breathtaking view that you can see for miles and miles. Our home is also a beef ranch that keeps us quite busy. Also I am very involved with my two horses. I enjoy trail riding on the property through the woods with my quarter horse Chevy and my thouroughbred, Rambo, that I jump and show with. During the riding months I try to ride every day because it is something I had dreamed about as a child but did not have the opportunity to do until 14 years ago. So we work hard and play hard.

During the winter we snowmobile as much as we can. But winter can be very long and harsh and it is a luxury to have the opportunity to get away to sunny Florida.

Why Mike & Kim chose Cape Coral

We have ventured in many places in Florida, however we have found Cape Coral just lovely. The coast is often windy, making it quite chilly. I fell in love with the mild Gulf side. Cape Coral is not the big tourist trap, which I appreciate. I want my quiet place to relax and unwind and forget all the busy activity and troubles. This place is perfect. However there are plenty of places close by for more activity and for the boys. Of course everyone loves the beach, and Fort Myers Beach is lovely with the powder sand and Sanibel is awesome as well for shelling and swimming in the calmest waters that are part of the ocean.

I fell in love with this house, we call “The Crib”. I thouroughly enjoyed redoing the interior design of the home, making it the perfect escape to the tropics. We just do not have the time to spend there yet, so we decided to share our home for others to enjoy when we just can’t. I think many will fall in love with our second home as well.

What makes this House unique

We had been searching for a few months for the right place in Cape Coral. The location in the quiet residential neighborhood is important to me. The huge over-sized corner lot is extravagant .

All this is great, however as soon as I walked into this house I knew it was everything we were looking for. I love the vaulted ceilings, the wall of mirrors and pocket shelving making the great room feel enormous. I love the open layout. Best of all are the pocket doors that open up and tuck away into the wall and the lanai and pool area are literally part of the living space. And THE VIEW! The intersecting large canals are RIGHT THERE! This is everything I was searching for.

There are many details of the quality home's design that just make it all perfect. I love the french doors that lead to the master suite. It makes it your personal private haven and I feel like a queen. I love the arched shelving space carved in the wall as you enter the master. I love every inch of the master - the two double sliding doors giving me my private entry to the lanai and incredible views of so much canal and the pool. I love all the closet space, of course every girl wants a walk-in closet that leads right to an enormous beautiful bathroom.

I love the split lay out design with the master suite on one side and the two other bedrooms on the other side of the huge central area. There is plenty of space for everyone to have privacy but the best part is the areas where every one can join together as a family or with friends.
